about
Written and composed by Rowan Thorsby
"I felt his heart" is a reference to religious experience, the song is about the idea of leaving everyone and everything behind in search of a God or some higher being. It's also about how a religious experience could have negative effects, resulting in detaching oneself from reality or committing suicide in order to "feel his heart" again.
lyrics
You drain me
You fulfil me too
I'm not your reservoir
Au revoir, let me go
I will let you go
I met a man once and I felt His heart
He didn't promise me anything but I felt His heart
He did't say a way word but I knew He loved me
Would you care if I left to find Him
If my eyes glazed over with a porcelain stare
I won't need them where I'm going
I met a man once and I felt His heart
He didn't promise anything but I felt His heart
I often wonder about those lost pilgrims
Did they find what they were searching for
The relief that we all eventually die for
Death welcomes us like gifts from life
They are lovers like we are
But they share something we'll never understand
I felt their hearts
I felt their hearts
He didn't promise me anything but I anything but I felt His heart
He didn't say a word by but I knew He loved me
